Ipamorelin is a synthetic pentapeptide (Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2). It is a selective agonist of the ghrelin / growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a). It was characterized as a growth-hormone secretagogue with a comparatively clean pituitary profile in early pharmacological work.
Investigators study ipamorelin in the somatotropic axis: pulsatile GH release models, selectivity versus earlier GHRP analogues, and related work on body-composition and recovery biology. Published comparative work (Raun et al., 1998) described GH release without the ACTH / cortisol elevation seen with GHRP-2 and GHRP-6 at GH-releasing doses. It is not an approved medicine on this site and is not offered for use in people or animals.
